An Article on Strike-the-Root
An article of mine was published today on Strike-the-Root on drinking-age laws and unintended consequences. Please check it out if you get a chance! Here's the link: The Seen and Unseen of Drinking-Age Laws.

The government has prevented the emergence of a culture of "underage" drinking of alcohol which would have taught the proper techniques and precautions and counsels attendant to drinking, just as it has prevented the emergence of a decent drug culture.
Agreed completely. If I didn't convey that well enough in my article, it's not because I didn't mean to; on my list of negative consequences, I included "...we never had to worry about what adults would think of us, since they were never around when it happened, and so never learned to be "presentably drunk"..." I suppose I could have been more clear about that, but alas, hindsight is always 20/20!
"Rational philosophy is on the march. It will f--- up all of your sh-- and leave you without any teeth."
What is this?
Welcome to Back to the Drawing Board! Until the summer of 2009, this blog was maintained by Danny Shahar, who subsequently went off to begin graduate school at the University of Arizona. Feel free to look around, keeping in mind that by the time you read this Danny will likely think that everything on this site is terribly unsophisticated and crude.
